Przemysław “Trust” Truściński (born 1970) is a Polish drawer, comics author, illustrator and painter. He completed the Secondary School of Fine Arts in Łódź and then graduated from the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts, Łódź, Poland.

At the beginning of the 1990s, Truściński took the Polish comics artists’ and readers’ societies by storm. His work was a breakthrough, as he introduced experimentation into the drawing of comics. Apart from traditional techniques (pen drawing, applying colour with water colours), which he perfected, he also used collage, and created comics out of ready-made materials (fabric, metal, nails). He created photo comics, in which he himself often featured, and other comics in video form… At the beginning of his career, Truściński was fascinated by the broadly understood fantasy genre. The mode of grotesque, satire and black humour dominated in his storylines. In the late 1990s, his works turned from fantasy towards mysticism. At present, Truściński’s comics concern mainly historical and sociocultural topics.

Truściński is an author of numerous works which constitute a versatile and rich artistic output. He created a couple dozen of short comic strips, three series of drawn interviews, three albums and a couple of anthologies as well as thousands of illustrations for prose texts and newspaper articles. He is an author of numerous storyboards (a few thousand drawings) and advertising projects. He designed television and theatre sets and graphic projects for computer games (The Witcher, among others).

Truściński has also been known as a populariser of comics and culture activist. An the beginning of the 1990s, as an active member of the “Contur” group, he was a co-organiser of the Polish Convention of Comics Artists in Łódź, an event which evolved into the biggest Central and Eastern European International Festival of Comics and Games. He was a graphic editor in the Talizman periodical, and cooperated with the Warsaw Rising Museum. Trust takes part in social and educational events. He is a lecturer in the Narrative Drawing Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and at the University of Zielona Góra. He runs comics workshops all over Poland. He is a media personality, as well as a comics and popular culture expert.

Truściński has participated in hundreds of collective comics and illustrations exhibitions in a number of countries, among others, in Belgium, Holland, Israel, Japan, France, Germany, Poland, Russia and Italy. The artist has held tens of dozens of individual exhibitions in several European countries. He received many awards, including the Grand Prix of the Polish Convention of Comics Artists in 1993. In 2010, he was awarded the Medal of Merit for Polish Culture. In 2013, he received the Polish Silver Cross of Merit.
